What Is Stepping Stones?
Stepping Stones in Okehampton Learning Community is a project set up to support students with additional needs throughout the learning community. This project is cross phase, which means it is designed to support children and young adults from 0 - 19.
This project is run by the Learning Community: the heads of all of the Primary schools in the Okehampton Learning Community, plus Okehampton College are committed to supporting students with additional needs in a more holistic way, and preventing exclusions through early identification and intervention.

Okehampton and Tavistock working together.
Due to the rural and isolated nature of both Okehampton and Tavistock Learning Communities, we have decided to come together to provide mutual support and share innovations and training through the Stepping Stones project. Our project is unique in Devon in that it will be a cross phase project, with Early Years settings, Primary schools and Secondary schools working together.
